Is your BS helping or hurting you?

I believe that our BS (Belief System) is what helps us to succeed, attract what we desire, and helps us reach our goals.

So where is our BS? It lies within our subconscious.  It is who we are. What we believe about ourselves and the world in which we live. From the moment we are born, until around the age of 8, everything we take in, our experiences, andfeelings are placed into the subconscious without regard for truth and accuracy, and this is where our life’s story begins to take shape.

Our BS tells us whether we are worthy or not. Our BS tells us if we are good at something or not. Our BS tells us if we can accomplish something or not.  Our BS determines how we relate to the people and world around us.

Let me give you an example of a Belief System working positively. Joan was born to loving, intelligent and creative parents. From the time she was very young, her parents told her that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to because she was smart and capable.  Joan’s parents never told her that she couldn’t, wasn’t good enough or smart enough. So Joan grew up believing that she could do anything.

Today she is a successful surgeon in a specialty field once ruled by men.

Here is an example of a Belief System working against the person.  Justin is a young athlete who dreams of one day becoming a professional baseball player. He devotes long hours into the physical aspect of training to become the best athlete. Justin’s father is a difficult and critical parent. From the time he was a boy, his father has placed unreasonable expectations on his playing abilities. If he made a mistake on the field, his father was yelling. If he didn’t get multiple hits every day, his father would tell him he is a failure. This is what Justin grew up listening to.  Now, as a young man, Justin is uncertain he will succeed. He is so fearful of making mistakes and not hitting well that he often wonders if his Dad was right. Justin’s  BS about who he is more wrapped around negative thinking that positive thinking.

Changing  your BS is a challenge and hard work. It will force you to re-evaluate who you are and what you think of yourself. Over time, the old BS can be replaced with a new, more positive Belief System.  Hypnosis is a wonderful way to change your current BS to one that serves you in a positive, forward moving direction.

The next time you think you can’t, or you’re not worthy ask yourself where that Belief came from and get to working on changing it.
