Your belief system is how you live your daily life and this system governs your thoughts and behaviors. Often your belief system helps you in positive ways. For example, if you don’t believe in drugs and alcohol then you probably would not engage in either of one of them. If you believe in kindness and honesty then that is how you live your life. So as you can see, your belief system is what you believe about yourself and the world around you.
So when does your belief system start playing havoc in your life? I think one of the best gauges of knowing when your belief system is helping or hurting is to look at your life and see if you have reached your goals and if you are living the life you want. Is your thinking about yourself and the world around you holding you back? Are the things that you believe about yourself interfering with goals that you have set for yourself?
So how does someone change their belief system that has been a part of their daily life for so long. The first step is to take a very close and personal look at what you believe about yourself. Do you believe you can do anything you set your mind to? Do you believe that you are smart or lacking intelligence? Do you believe that you are loveable or not? Is the world around you an amazing place or not? These are just a few questions to get you started. From there, you start changing how you perceive yourself and the world around you. It won’t happen overnight, but when you become aware how your thinking is helping you or hurting you, you can become mindful of where your thoughts take you and then work on switching them to work for you in positive ways.
So what are you waiting for? Start working on how and what you believe in. You won’t be disappointed. Change your thinking and you change your destiny. Have an amazing life!
